I am delighted to be open up my offering of retreats this coming year with three local events, to bring a more intense and rounded experience to both your wellbeing and your movement fitness.
Incorporating movement that comes from strength to flow and back again - this is called pendulation, and nervous system resets through the fascia - called pandiculation. Mostly, it's about connecting, challenging and being curious with your body and movement!
We will of course, also work with the breath - through your movement and though your biochemistry.
I structure my retreats to be deliberately immersive, intense and integrative. This allows for alot of new understanding, experiencing and change in a short time.
The foundation for this is about creating connection, safety and curiosity. It aim to hold the space so that you may be enabled to explore and deepen your capacity and self-knowing.
This format supports and is supported by my Patreon Amplified Human membership and community, where you can continue to practice and expand on what you have gathered towards you through the the retreats.
Note that the first 100 founding memebers will receive almost half price membership for the first year, at £25 instead of £45 - and this includes 6 live and recorded sessions with me per month, and much more.

It is my absolute joy and pleasure to be hosting this with my friend and colleague, Abby Lord.
Abby is movement coach based in Lanarkshire, in Scotland and runs Hypopressives Scotland.
Hypopressives exercises involve decreasing in the pressure applied to the pelvic floor by creating an environment where the intra-abdominal pressure is applied equally to the muscular walls surrounding the core.It integrates the use of biotensegrity, fascia, neurodynamics and breathing techniques to enhance posture and decrease intra-abdominal pressure on the pelvic floor and other tissues surrounding the core.
Abby also teaches Pilates, TRE and strength training. She is deeply passionate and knowledgable about empowering women to understand their body, to recover from changes around pregnancy and birth, difficult reproductive organ displacement, and trauma.
Abby will still be with on Day Two, enjoying just being in the crowd (but we'll probably still be bouncing off each other all the same!)
There will be tea and coffee and yummy things, and to keep you going, a delicious, nutritious, women's health focused lunch will be provided by WH nutritionist, Fran Gregory.

DAY ONE - Saturday 13th June
9.30-12.15 Fascial flow & functional breathing (with Monica) plus intro to foot and lower limb movement with a core of injury prevention and strengthening gait dynamics. Integrating all of this with Hypopressives for pelvic floor health, breathing and fascia - because they're all connected. (Monica and Abby)
1.30-4.15 Hypopressives & Franklin Method for ankle and shoulder health (with Abby)

DAY TWO - Sunday 14th June
9.30-12.15 BREATHING - The postural and functional dynamics through which we breathe. We will look at the shape of the ribcage and how we organise, how we feel with nasal breathing including the biochemical benefits of this, and exercises to expand our capacity for tolerating increased nasal breathing.
1.30-4.15 POSTURE & STRENGTH - The way that we organise, consciously and unconsciously, creates our capacity for a spectrum of movement that we can then work with, through both movement and breath. And for me, the addition of loading this - with light (or not-so-light) weights - anchors change and strength.

Day 1:

11.45am Workshop - Breath, Fascia, Posture & Connection - why it matters to work with these in an integrated way

1.30pm Nutrition Workshop: Strength, Balance and the body (60 mins) FBM

Fascial Flow,
Presence & Breath
Fascia holds so many gifts for us when we work with it intentionally. It needs movement and breath to stimulate it's full potential, otherwise it gets stiff and sticky. And so do we - in our body and our feeling and sensing.
Fascia really lets us unstick, connect and sit with what is there, on the way to moving it out and making space for what needs to come in.
Position & Strength
We are capable of a three-plane spectrum of movement, and yet we often live in maybe 35-50% of that. So how do we access the rest and then feel confident and powerful in that full range? This is what we move towards in our MoveBreatheHealPerform (MBHP) classes. I will teach you how the parts of your body organise and integrate, and how to get more from your body.
